Creating and maintaining an ethical website for behavioral health professionals
Presented by: Adrienne Fitzer, MA, BCBA Founder and CEO of ABAC, Inc Date: Thursday, July 13, 2017 Time: 10:00 am -12:00 pm eastern Recording Information: ABACAccess5 Abstract/Summary: In graduate school and supervised concurrent or post-graduate training, most behavioral health professionals learn the skills that they need to work with clients to promote positive behavioral outcomes. When those professionals decide that they want to start their own private practice, agency, or consulting group, many may lack the skills necessary to properly represent themselves and their work on the internet. A good first impression and an easy to use, attractive, and frequently updated website that reflects your professional services is part of developing an online persona that is appealing to consumers. Nevertheless, ethics and security should be the first thing a professional considers when developing and maintaining their website. Participants will leave the event prepared to create and maintain a website that promotes their behavioral health services while adhering to the ethical guidelines and standards of major organizations that represent behavioral health professionals. Presenter Adrienne Fitzer, founder and CEO of ABAC,has over 20+ years experience in the field of autism. In 2013 she taught herself to develop a WordPress website when she decided to start ABAC, an online continuing education center that offers live webinars presented by industry experts.. After countless hours of reading blogs, watching videos, engaging technical support professionals, and literally thousands of errors, Adrienne developed a website that works well, is visually appealing and is designed to remain in compliance with the standards and guidelines of the major organizations that grant ABAC ACE provider/sponsor status.
